Hired bikes for the 5km ride out to The Red Mountain Estate vineyard. A very colourful day with plenty of red and white (wine). The pedal home was surprisingly easy.

2,200 Bagan Pagodas to visit
A nice couple of days sightseeing around Bagan. Had to hire a E-bike as the 2,200 Pagodas, monasteries and temples, were too widely spread out to cover on foot. A nice easy climb to the monastery at the top of Mt. Popa, a breeze at only 777 steps.
Irrawaddy river cruise
For a change instead of travelling by road or rail, we chose to cruise from Mandalay to Bagan. Not the sort of cruise we are accustom to, but a very relaxing 11 hour trip down the river with the company of a fellow Englishman, David.

Clearly from this sign displayed in a public toilet in Mandalay, they know that Tania is now accustomed to using a squat toilet and needs reminding about correct toilet etiquette.

U Bein bridge
This evening we went to watch the sunset over the longest teak bridge in the world. U Bein Bridge is located in Amarapura, about 10 km outside Mandalay. It is 1.2 km in length and crosses Taungthaman Lake.
India 2 by numbers
Our time in India 2 (North Eastern India) was broken down as follows:- 15 nights in 9 different beds. 6.5 hours travelling by train. 34 hours travelling by shared jeep. 4 hours trekking on foot. 3.25 hours travelling by minivan. 960 miles approximately covered. 12 mosquito bites. 2 pairs of gloves bought. 2 hats bought….
