11 months ago today, we left the UK on our adventure. Visiting 12 countries before entering Cambodia 5 months ago to the day. Since our last post, we have left our semi-isolation accommodation in Kampot and moved to the Cambodian island of Koh Rong Samloem. Located in the Gulf of Thailand about 16 miles off the coast from the city of Sihanoukville.
We are staying here until the middle of August unless things change with the border openings.
Whilst here we have been adopted by one of the island’s many dogs. She sticks to us like glue and sleeps on our terrace most nights.
Our resort is currently home to 5 dogs, including our adoptive one. A walk along the beach brings them all out to say hello. We think in these quiet times, they just want a bit of company and someone to make a fuss of them. In fact, there are probably more dogs than tourists currently on the island.
For many years we have dreamed about staying on Necker Island, Richard Branson’s private island. Staying here comes close, as the island is pretty much empty. Giving us peace and tranquillity, minus the 7* luxury of course. We can’t have everything.
