Having had a few days in Kochi, it was time to move on again. This time we were on our way to Champakulam. Being close to Christmas, we didn’t want to get to the railway station. To find that all the trains were fully booked. Especially as Ernakulam south KSRTC bus station was just around the corner. So off to the bus station it was.
On arrival, there was a bus ready to depart. For the first leg of the journey to Alappuzha KSRTC bus station in Alleppey. Choosing not to board that one as there were no seats. Standing with backpacks was not an option for us.
20 minutes later another bus arrived. We boarded and settled down for the 2 hours 30-minute journey, which cost 58 Rupees each. From Alappuzha KSRTC bus station in Alleppey. Another local state bus was required to get us to the Champakulam bus station. our final destination.
The journey there took 40 minutes and cost 18 Rupees each. From the bus station at Champakulam, a short walk across the bridge got us to our riverside accommodation Triveny River Palace.
