Turkey straddles eastern Europe and western Asia with cultural connections to ancient Greek, Persian, Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman empires.
It is bordered to the northwest by Greece and Bulgaria, to the north by the Black Sea, to the north east by Georgia, to the east by Armenia, the Azerbaijani exclave of Nakhchivan and Iran, to the southeast by Iraq and Syria. To its south is the Mediterranean Sea and to its west is the Aegean Sea.

Our main form of transport was by bus. The roads are in good condition throughout the country.
