Azerbaijan is a landlocked country in the South Caucasus region of Eurasia at the crossroads of Eastern Europe and Central Asia. Bordered by the Caspian Sea to the east, Russia to the north, Georgia to the northwest, Armenia to the west, and Iran to the south.
The exclave of Nakhchivan is bordered by Armenia to the north and east. Iran to the south and west, and has a 6.8-mile long border with Turkey to the northwest.

We travelled through Azerbaijan for 7 days, covering a total of 571 miles. Our main form of transport was by marshrutkas, minibus taxis. Roads are in poor condition throughout the country. With the exception of Baku and the road into the city, so expect a bumpy ride.
