Firstly find a piece of string approximately 40 inches long.
We are sure that you will have a piece of string this length in the garage or failing that the shed. As we have neither a garage or a shed we got our string from a laundry bag we acquired on route.
Grasp the toilet roll firmly in one hand, using the other hand, pass one end of the string through the centre opening of the toilet roll.
Bring the two ends of the string together so that the toilet roll hangs in the middle of the string.
This next step can be a little tricky. A knot is required to tie the two ends of the string together.
Tip; either use a reef knot or a bow, as replacement of the toilet roll will require the knot to be undone. In the photo below a reef knot has been used.
Now the toilet roll is suspended in a complete loop of the string. All that is required now is to hang the string on the hook already in the toilet. Luckily for us.
Good toilet etiquette dictates that the toilet paper should come off the top of the toilet roll. If it is coming off the bottom simply take the string off the hook, rotate it through 180 degrees and replace back on the hook.
Finally to hide the unsightly knot slide the string through the toilet roll until the knot is hidden within.
