Up until last night, we hadn’t really experienced any issues since entering Cambodia, just over 2 weeks ago.
Last night on returning back to our accommodation, we were advised that the local minivan companies had started refusing bookings for westerners, having taken a booking earlier in the day, then ringing the accommodation later to cancel the reservation.
This could be the start of things to come. We were going to make our way to see some elephants at the Mondulkiri Elephant & Wildlife Sanctuary, thus staying out of the way, but we have reservations about being able to get back from the jungle so have put that on hold.
Having woken up this morning, we have managed to get transport back into Phnom Penh, where we will extend our visas, which can take 3-5 days.
Visa extended, we are planning to run down to Kampot, where we are looking to hole up for a couple of weeks in an Airbnb chalet outside of town, away from others.
