When we arrived at the Hotel Sani in Kutaisi, we were told that despite us having a Hotels.com booking confirmation and having paid for the hotel, we didn’t have a room.
This was a situation that we really didn’t need at the end of a long day with in excess of 7 hours of travelling.
The Hotel Sani, at first, wasn’t really interested, so we had no option other than to contact Hotels.com directly to resolve the matter.
Finally, after about an hour of messaging, a resolution was arrived at and we were transferred to another hotel.
On arrival at the Taia Hotel and being shown to our room, it was clear that we had been relocated to a hotel of a lower standard to our original booking and to add further insult, we were given a twin room as no doubles were available, furthermore, we were advised that the restaurant was closed meaning further inconvenience as we didn’t intend to venture out for a meal.
We dropped our bags in the room and went out and had a lovely meal in a local restaurant just down the road……….. but, our nightmare didn’t end there.
At about midnight there was loads of loud talking from the room next to ours. A swift bang on the wall by Tania silenced the noise……… for a while, then it got louder again so, a dam good shout from Guy followed by another hammering on the wall did the trick…….. for a while. Some 3 hours later they were still chattering away, so a further hammering on the wall by Guy, but, this time it got a knocking in reply.
That was enough, Tania, went into rottweiler mode, on with her clothes and knocking on their door, no reply, so she knocked again, so hard another guest from a room further down the corridor poked his head out, agreeing that there was too much noise.
Eventually, an older gentleman opened the door in his underpants, he got both barrels from Tania, haven’t got a clue if he understood but there was more noise.
Needless to say, after complaining to Hotels.com, we had the room refunded and a voucher as compensation to use against a future booking.
