With most of Europe imposing lockdowns to stem the spread of COVID-19, we are anticipating that the same will start to happen in Asia shortly.
At present our travels haven’t really been affected too much by the outbreak. Recent events however, may change that. Vietnam has imposed visa restrictions, Thailand followed suit, but then reversed it, so trying to plan onward travel is somewhat difficult, as entry requirements are constantly changing. Things are quite calm and settled in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, although it is not a nice feeling, when you enter a shop or a restaurant, the staff feel the need to put a mask on, removing it again once you leave, but understandably, they are only being cautious.
So where to from here? Honestly, we are still not 100% sure, we extended our stay to allow us to carry out research and carefully consider what to do. As of this moment, the plan is to head towards Laos, closer to China but, with a population of only 7 million, not much tourism and a majority of the populous not jet setting around the world, it kind of makes sense. Of course, we may not be granted a visa on arrival, so things could change. Our immediate travel plan……. going for breakfast.
