We arrived in Vienna last night after what turned out to be a long day. No problems with the train to Gatwick airport. Really quick check-in for our Vuelling flight and straight through security, which was great as it gave us more time in the No 1 Lounge.
Then, as we sat enjoying a chicken and chorizo stew with a nice glass of sauvignon blanc, we watched all the other flights go………. but not ours. After an hour delay, which wasn’t a problem really as the lounge had an endless supply of food and drink, we were called to the gate.
It didn’t end there. Once on the plane, which wasn’t a Vuelling but a very uncomfortable budget Austrian airline called Level. We were advised that we would be sitting on the tarmac for another 30 mins, as Vienna airport was temporarily closed owing to a storm. We finally took off after an hour and a half delay.
Arrival in Vienna was welcomed as neither of us could get comfortable on the plane. A very quick debark with no waiting at passport control or the carousel for our bag and being met by Stacey, ment we were able to catch the last local train into the city and to Stacey’s apartment.
